What is Lady Washington? Lady Washington is a reproduction. She is a replica of the original Washington/Lady Washington that sailed from approximately 1750 - 1798. Her vessel type is a "brig", (the name comes from the configuration of the sails). It would be most accurate to say that Lady Washington is a "a merchant brig of 90 tons". (The "90" is a volumetric measurement, not the weight of the vessel.) Her official title is "Washington State's Tall Ship Ambassador".
